History

The FSPD is the oldest and most famous Swiss Association of Private Investigators. In the year 1952, the Association was founded under the title of the Swiss Union of Private Investigators (VSP). In 1970, the FSPD received its present title. Together with the German (BDD) and the Austrian (ÖDV) Association of Detectives, the FSPD was the cofounder of the International Federation of Associations of Private Investigators (IKD). Today, the FSPD is domiciled in Zurich. Already in the year 1952, it was the aim of the founders to seek high standard quality rather than quantity. These professional standards are still valid for today. With the alteration of the articles of association on June 1991, the terms of admission as well as the personal requirements for applicants have even been increased considerably.
